]]>I understand the GOP isn’t a great political party (as do most Americans), but if the Dems continue to double-down on supporting trans surgery for minors, abortion in all cases, lying about inflation, and just plain denying objective facts and common sense; they are going to drive independents to the GOP in the next election. After hearing so much craziness in the last couple of years; I could not in good conscience vote for a Democrat. I honestly don’t know what to do at this point. I think many Americans feel the same.
What Say Ye?
]]>Nothing says I love freedom more than forcing someone to display their patriotism. Many have forgotten what freedom is in this country. Many think that sure you should be free, but as soon as you bring up something they personally oppose; they want a law. Our National Anthem is a prime example. I personally love our anthem, but I love what it represents far more than the anthem itself. Freedom is the liberty to do things that others may or may not like. Force is the opposite of freedom.
Of course, those opposite of the Nationalist Right have their own pet issues–the most recent is forced vaccination. I’m sure that those on the Illiberal Left will come up with all their reasons why forcing people to be vaccinated is actually freedom, but they are just as wrong as are those who want to force patriotism.
Persuasion is the answer. If I believe something strongly, I should attempt to convince you, but I should not try to get a law passed to make you adhere.
Roger Williams once wrote: “Forced worship stinks in the nostrils of God.” I can’t help but believe he would feel the same way about forced patriotism or forced medical treatments.
